Art Venues
Walla Walla has garnered a reputation as a mecca for art and artists, evident in the amount of public art on Main Street and also on Whitman Campus. Many artists have moved here both for the community and the physical beauty. However, while there is a lot of art being made in the valley, there are very few (if any) stand alone art galleries in downtown Walla Walla. If they exist, they do not keep regular hours. Your best bet is to talk to people once you get here and have them suggest a tour that will include wineries showing fine art, private appointments and our two frame shops. As a community, we are actively trying to change this for our art visitors.
On the first Friday of each month, venues with art stay open later and welcome visitors. ArtWalla keeps a list of who is showing where.
